i lost a fire bellied toad once...she was so determined to get out! i was cleaning their tank one day, and turned around to pick something up and she climbed up the siphon hose. i didn't even see her get out. she hopped around the floor, and tried to climb up into the couch. the dust got to her pretty quick and dried her out. i would never have found her if she hadn't left feet marks from her hopping. that's luckily the only one that i've lost, and i've learned and i'm much more careful about keeping an eye on them when i have the top off their tank.
